Global Management 2008: Keynote speakers

HUGL, Ulrike

Professor Ulrike Hugl comes from the University of Innsbruck Department of Accounting, Auditing & Taxation, Austria, where she teaches several topics in Economic and Social Sciences. She has also been a Lecturer at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, in Master Courses.

Ulrike has received several awards for the work she has been developing and her research and consulting experiences in the following areas: Organisational Analysis and Diagnosis, Qualitative Content Analysis and Mind-Mapping, Personnel and Organisation Development Processes, Presentation/Moderation/Learning Processes, University Management - Concepts/Implementation, University and New Media, E-Learning; New Technologies and Privacy; and Technological Impact Assessment.

Professor Ulrike Hugl has also published and presented several papers on the different uses of technology in the organizations. The research projects she is currently working on are: Research-study in German-speaking countries “New technologies and Privacy” and Work package “Security and Privacy” within the EU-Project “Breath-gas analysis for molecular-oriented detection of minimal diseases (BAMOD)”, sixth framework programme, priority 1 (STREP) – life sciences, genomics and biotechnology for health.

 

KOLEV, Kaloyan

Professor Kaloyan Kolev comes from Varna University of Economics, Bulgaria,  where he teaches several topics in Economics. He holds a PhD in International Economics, having presented his Thesis on "Influence of FDI on International Trade".

In 2004 Kaloyan was granted the “Marie Curie Fellowship”, an EU Commission fellowship for a visiting PhD position, at the School of Economics and Management from the University of Aarhus, Denmark. He has also received several awards for outstanding academic achievements.

Professor Kolev has published several monographs, academic papers and book chapters. His major research interests are related to multinational enterprises and foreign direct investments, international trade, micro, macro and transition economics.

 

SCANNELL, Nancy

Ms. Nancy J. Scannell is an Associate Professor at the University of Illinois College of Business and Management in the State's capital city of Springfield where she teaches finance. She has held lecturer posts at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Nancy is a Faculty Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's Russian, E. European & Eurasian Center and a Faculty Affiliate of the William Davidson Institute for the University of Michigan Business School's International Executive Education program.

Nancy earned her undergraduate and Ph.D. degrees in economics from, respectively, Michigan State University and the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has visited more than 55 countries and has engaged in internationally-scoped professional assignments in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Finland, France, India, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Panama, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, South Korea, Ukraine and Vietnam. Her research is reflective of her global sojourns. Nancy is 3-time Fulbright award recipient and an International Research Exchanges Board (IREX) grantee. She serves on the Board of the Journal of American Academy of Business Cambridge and as a Fulbright Specialist Program peer reviewer.
